Louisiana Purchase Exposition Company chair
This Federal-style armchair was used by the Louisiana Purchase Exposition Company, which planned and operated the 1904 World’s Fair. The chair became part of the Missouri Historical Society Collections in 1926 after the merger of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition Historical Association with the Missouri Historical Society in 1925. It was a gift from David R. Francis, president of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition Historical Association and of the exposition itself.
