This is one of the most requested photos from the 1904 World’s Fair collections. Part of the Lyon Family Collection, it shows (from left to right) Randolph Smith Lyon, Mildred Frances Lyon, Mrs. Montague Lyon (Frances Robnett Smith Lyon), and Montague Lyon Jr. eating ice cream cones at the World’s Fair. From the photo the viewer can surmise that the family purchased their delectable treats on the Pike, where the ice cream vendor was most likely located.
