Rand McNally floor globe marked with flight routes

Charles Lindbergh met Anne Morrow while on his goodwill flight to Mexico in December 1927. One of their wedding gifts, this floor globe came from Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mahoney. Mahoney owned Ryan Airlines, the company that built the Spirit of St. Louis. This globe was one of the few items that the Lindberghs retained in their home for a time. It became a type of diary of all the flights they made together, with the routes mapped out on the globe in black marker. Both Charles and Anne signed the globe before gifting it to the Missouri Historical Society in 1941.
