Beaded purse presented to Evangeline Lindbergh
This purse is made from small, multicolored, metal beads. It was given to Charles Lindbergh by a woman identified as Madame Jacquot as a gift for his mother, Evangeline Lodge Land Lindbergh. After his historic transatlantic flight, Charles, who was unmarried, was often accompanied by his mother at public appearances, and Evangeline received her share of congratulations and gifts of appreciation. She offered many of those gifts to the Missouri Historical Society, along with those from Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh.
