I Believe
In response to protests held at the Saint Louis Galleria mall over the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer, AT&T commissioned local artist Malcolm McCrae to paint this mural in early June 2020 as a way to protect its nearby storefront at 1811 S. Brentwood Boulevard. According to an AT&T employee, the 18×5-foot mural was attached to the building for about a week. Realizing its political, social, and aesthetic value, AT&T wanted to preserve the piece. Protest art like this has become a hallmark of social justice movements.
